Properties :
SUBSTRAT acts as a long-lasting nutrient depot and guarantees your aquatic plants a vigorous and healthy growth. SUBSTRAT is a natural concentrate of clay and peat moss for use with gravel in the substrate when setting up the aquarium. The clay and peat moss slowly supply nutrients to the plant roots while absorbing nutrients from the water into the substrate. This reduction in the amount of nutrients in the water reduces the risk of unwanted algae growth.
Use :
When setting up the aquarium, place a 1 cm layer of SUBSTRAT in the bottom. The table shows the dimensions of various standard aquariums and the recommended amounts of SUBSTRAT.
Then cover the substrate with at least 3-4 cm of gravel. This acts as a barrier between the concentrated SUBSTRAT and the water. When transplanting, place the plants in the gravel as usual. The plants will soon produce new roots in the substrate. When transplanting, avoid stirring the substrate as much as possible in order to avoid mixing clay and sphagnum particles with the water.
