You can also use the Insula Pads in other easier-to-access areas to unleash your creativity and create unique landscapes. The pads are flexible and versatile, allowing them to be easily adapted to the shape of your aquarium or paludarium. Using the WIO Aquagrow Insula Pad is a convenient way to enhance plant growth while beautifying your aquarium or paludarium. With the WIO Aquagrow Insula Pad, transform your aquarium or paludarium into a magnificent blooming ecosystem. Place the plants in the Insula Pad as explained below in the "how it works" section. Then, place the Insula Pad in the aquarium and sprinkle it with gravel or sand. The Insula Pads are delivered without plants. In principle, most plants can be placed on the Insula Pads, but it certainly works well with foreground plants and Invitro plants.
A pad can be placed on any surface and in any direction, including horizontally, vertically, upside down, turned, or in any other creative configuration.

How does it work?

It's very simple. First, thoroughly wet the Insula Pad by submerging it in a basin of water. This helps remove brown dust from the pad but does no harm. Using tweezers or a pencil tip, make holes in the Aquagrow Insula Pads where you want to plant, and adjust the hole size based on the size of the plant's roots. Then, you can easily insert the seedlings into the holes, one by one, using tweezers. The holes should be as deep as possible. If desired, you can, for example, glue Anubias species onto the Insula Pad using plant glue, allowing epiphytic roots to penetrate the Insula Pad and access the substrate mix.

Using in an existing aquarium: You can also use Aquagrow Insula Pads in an already established aquarium. The pads should be planted first, and once planted, they can be submerged in clean water (e.g., a bucket of water) to remove organic matter and minimize aquarium water discoloration. Then, you can place the pads in the aquarium and cover them with gravel or sand. Any remaining residue will be removed by the filtration system within a few hours.

Plant the Insula Pads as described above in the "how it works" section, then place the pads in the aquarium and cover them with gravel or sand. Any remaining residue will be removed by the filtration system within a few hours.
