The viviparous Poeciiliidae (Poeciliidae): guppies, mollies, platys, gambusias, xiphos and a few others belong to the group of viviparous Poeciiliidae. They all give birth to live young and thus do not lay eggs like most other fish species. In the wild, they eat insects, larvae, algae and anything edible - they are not picky. Depending on the habitat, algae and their animals often form the bulk of their diet.
