BILOCIL

BILOCIL® for the treatment of skin, gill or tapeworm infestations in susceptible fish such as L-cats (Harness Catfish, Loricariidae), Corydoras and very young fish in ornamental aquaculture.

This product is also the drug of choice in the treatment of community aquariums with many different types of fish.

The drug is well tolerated by all shrimp. BILOCIL® is a new development of Manaus-Aquarium with the active ingredients: N-[3-chloro-4-(4-chlorophenoxy)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-3,5-diiodobenzamide and (RS)-2-(cyclohexylcarbonyl)-2,3,4,6,7,11b-hexahydro-1H-pyrazino[2,1-a]isoquinolin-4-one for the effective treatment of fish suffering from Monogenea (worms of the skin and gills).

BILOCIL cures fish of Dactylogyrus egg-laying species and Gyrodactylus viviparous species and also has a reducing effect on flagellates in the fish gut during deworming. Cichlids, especially discus, are often heavily infested with gill worms (Dactylogyrus spp.).

If left untreated, these parasitic infections are responsible for the slow death of the animals. Young fish and smaller fish species die from the parasites after a short period of time in case of massive infestation and BILOCIL® should be treated immediately.

Viviparous skin worms (Gyrodactylus spp.) are often a problem with all viviparous ornamental fish such as guppy, platy and heavy carrier species, but also gourmets (labyrinth fish) are affected. In our microscopic examination of animals in the wholesale and retail trade, fish with a high infestation density were not uncommon.

Red neonates (Paracheirodon axelrodi) imported directly from Brazil were also found with a high infestation of Monogenea. Skin and gill worms remain a major problem for ornamental fish importers, traders and breeders.

The effect of BILOCIL® has been successfully tested in preliminary test series at an ornamental fish importer and at several large discus breeding facilities in Germany. The preparation is characterised by a very fast therapeutic success and a particularly good tolerance in all ornamental fish. BILOCIL® is free of polymeric solubilisers.

BILOCIL® does not discolour or cloud the aquarium water (bacterial bloom). Packaging units: 100ml for 2000 litres of water
