Callisia repens – Creeping plant for terrarium

Callisia repens is a small creeping houseplant with round, fleshy leaves. It is easy to grow and provides excellent ground cover in tropical terrariums and vivariums.

Thrives in warm and humid conditions, making it ideal for tropical terrariums, paludariums, and bioactive enclosures. It also helps maintain humidity and provides shelter for small reptiles and amphibians.

Growing conditions

• Light: Bright but indirect. Avoid direct sunlight.
• Temperature: Best between 18°C and 24°C. Do not expose below 15°C.
• Humidity: Medium to high. Suitable for enclosed, humid environments.

Watering

• Keep the substrate slightly moist, not soggy.
• Allow the surface to dry slightly between waterings.
• Use soft, room-temperature water.

Substrate

• Mix of potting soil, perlite, and sphagnum moss.
• Slightly acidic pH recommended.
