The Everglades Biotope Mix, like all Wio gravels, is washed before being packaged. However, we recommend rinsing the gravel before introducing it to the aquarium. There may be some dust in the bag, and a quick rinse will help prevent suspended particles in the aquarium. The aquarium will have clear water from the first fill!
