Origin:

  • Natural Habitat: Native to Australia, primarily found in the wet and marshy areas of southern Western Australia and Tasmania.

General Description:

  • Type: Perennial herbaceous carnivorous plant.
  • Appearance: Forms a compact tuft of small rosettes of leaves and flowering stems.
  • Size: Mature individuals can reach about 5 to 15 cm in height.

  • Shape: Linear or spatulate leaves, arranged in basal rosettes.

  • Texture: Smooth surface, often with glandular hairs.

Flowers:

Capture Mechanism:

  • Strategy: Utilizes an active capture mechanism based on the sensitivity of its stamens.
  • Functioning: When an insect lands on the flower and triggers the capture mechanism, the stamens abruptly fold, trapping the insect against the pistil and promoting pollination.

Cultivation Conditions:

  • Temperature: Tolerates a wide range of temperatures but prefers temperate climates.
  • Humidity: Requires moderate to high humidity.
