Asian red-spotted goby - small, lively fish for stream aquariums
Rhinogobius rubromaculatus is a small goby native to Taiwan and southern China. This lively, colourful bottom-dwelling fish prefers cool, well-oxygenated water. Its characteristic bluish fins and red spots are particularly attractive.
1. Behaviour & maintenance
Active and territorial towards males of the same species. It likes aquariums with strong currents, a gravel substrate and lots of stones. A minimum of 80 litres is required for a group of 4 to 5 individuals.

5. Reproduction
Eggs laid on stone or smooth wall. The male keeps the eggs until they hatch. Breeding possible in a specific aquarium with moderate current and fresh water.
